The filming of ‘Adbhutam‘ was also full of many wonders. The film, which is the fourth in Jayaraj’s Navarasa series, was shot entirely in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Adbhutam is about the life of a Malayalee who seeks permission for euthanasia.
Chandrasekhara Warrier, a Malayalee living in the United States, is battling for his life due to a serious illness. He approaches the court asking that he be allowed euthanasia. The court granted his application. The film depicts the events that take place in the hospital from 9 am to 11.30 am on the day of the euthanasia.
Suresh Gopi plays the lead role in the film. The film also stars KPSC Lalitha, Mamata Mohandas, Kavalam Sreekumar and many other actors.
Jayaraj had initially decided to complete the shooting of the film, which is one and a half hours long, within ten hours. But with the full cooperation of over 60 artists, including foreigners, and S. Kumar, who has always done wonders in photography, a new world record was set on December 13, 2005 at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, with the confidence of a seven – day rehearsal. The record was ‘Filming of a feature film was completed in two hours and fourteen minutes’. This is probably the first time in world cinema.
