To keep up with the time is not everyone’s cup of tea, Oliver Twist played by Indrans, the lead character of #Home Malayalam Movie is a person who has seen a few difficult days in life. We are told in a flashback that he ran one of the most sought after Video Cassette lending libraries in town. The Video Cassettes became history and our Oliver Twist was left behind longingly staring at a stack of old cassettes in his attic.
Cut to today, Oliver finds himself unable to bridge a wide gap between his lost in the smartphone and Social Media Sons and himself who and many of his age are alien to the world of Smartphones and Social Media. The gap is more than mere technology acquaintance. He is always looking for the approval of his sons mainly his elder one Antony played by Sreenath Bhasi, a writer-director having no idea for his second movie after a successful debut film. Oliver’s wife Kuttiyamma played by Manju Pillai understands her husband’s longings but is more than busy with her daily household chores to help him.
#Home Malayalam Movie Direction
Rojin Thomas who made his directorial debut with Philips and the Monkey Pen Malayalam Movie has regained the magic touch of his debut in #Home, Most of that magic is due to the craft of Indrans who has given a detailed and touching performance. May it be the scenes showing his struggles with Smartphone technology, or the scenes where he keeps his family unaware of his feelings. Indrans makes Oliver a simple man who is one among us and very dear fellow at that.
#Home Releases on 19th of August 2021 and will be streaming on Amazon Prime Movies.
The emotional content is presented in a light spirit, mainly with the help of Oliver’s friend Suryan Played by Johny Antony and Oliver’s younger Son Charles played by Naslan. K. Gafoor, who put in their share of humor just wherever it is needed. Prejish Prakash the editor of #Home malayalam movie needed to put some more effort at the editing table.
Despite being weak in editing #Home Malayalam Movie touches you, is enjoyable and is held up by superb performances by the cast.
