The promo of Nivin Pauly’s ‘Malayalee from India‘ had Nivin and the director Dijo Jose Antony himself play the funny versions of themselves in this funny promo, where Dijo tells the story of ‘Malayalee from India’ to Nivin to get him to star in the movie. The funny interaction where Dijo tells all lies to Nivin to make him to act in ‘Malayalee from India’ and the real montages from the movie showing right opposite. Nivin wants to make a pan-Indian Movie to be on the current trend bandwagon. It looks like Dijo is about to make Nivin act in a very local movie promising him that it is a pan India movie.
This promo makes fun of the Pan India cinema Movement, Prithviraj and Nivin himself. In the ‘Malayalam movie Malayalee from India’ Nivin Pauli plays Aalparambil Gopi a silly character with a silly hairstyle and silly look. Gopi is funny an is always in one problem or the other. He is seen trying to catch the attention of a minor. Another Gopi antic is when he snatches the whistle from a kid in between a stampede caused by a mad elephant. Nivin Pauly also takes a dig at the Bharat vs India debate, He is trying to decide if ‘Bharat’ or ‘India’ would be better for the Malayalam movie ‘Malayalee from India’ title, and Dijo explains that both are same. Nivin is at his funny best.

The first half gave an above average experience of a political drama and comedy second half is a bit disappointing but Nivin Pauly has done his part well and the film gets good mileage. Comedy parts of the film work average in the first half . While the first 30 minutes of the second half are entertaining, it takes a forced emotional turn to the film, leading to a climax that is not the film’s fault. It is also worth mentioning that Jakes Bijoy’s BGM has supported the film brilliantly. Overall this movie is a decent entertainer. Everyone can see it once.
